Curating A Soulful Art Collection

Curating a soulful art collection for your interior is about one thing — love. The art of curation is about finding pieces that speak to you personally; discovering works that can add to your story of home; and essentially, bringing pieces home that you’ve fallen in love with.

While many think that starting an art collection requires big budgets and a gallery-style space, that is not the case. A cornerstone piece for your collection can be found at a local flea market. You might visit a student exhibit in your community and begin collecting the work of an emerging artist. A visit to a museum gift shop could be the start of a budding print collection. And a vacation to another city or country could inspire a collection built upon your travels.

At AphroChic, we work on finding the perfect pieces to make building your art collection accessible, affordable, and meaningful. We do this by offering a diverse array of art — Black impressionist works, abstract art, vintage photography, and modern sculpture — that features incredible voices from across the African Diaspora.

But more than just a diverse array of pieces, the AphroChic fine art collection is about illuminating the voices of Black artists, and Black images in art. With far too little representation of Black art at most home furnishings brands, the fine art collection at AphroChic seeks to expand the visibility of high quality Black art that can be central to building a beautiful and valuable collection at home.

We invite you to explore our Harlem Renaissance Collection, vintage Carl Van Vechten prints, and paintings by Chicago artist, Natalie O. Decor. All pieces curated to feed the soul.
