Some things are just better as a pair. Case in point - our Hi Hat Ash Coffee Table Set. This classic, stylish pair of tables is designed to complete any room. The eye-catching and useful 2-tier design provides extra storage space for books, magazines, and other items. The tabletop showcases a Manchurian ash pattern, giving the pieces a sense of movement. The tops are supported by stainless steel legs, ensuring strength and durability, while the raised edge design guarantees that what you place on these tables will stay on them, making them especially useful for living rooms, family rooms, or any room where little ones might be running by. Compact and lightweight, the coffee and end table are both easy to move and carry. Impeccably made, the set can be used indoor or outdoor for added versatility. Whether used in combination or as a shared element across rooms, the Hi Hat Ash Coffee Table Set is everything your interior needs.

Editors' Note

Our Hi Hat coffee table is named for the hi hat cymbals that revolutionized music during the Jazz Age. While consensus is thin on who actually created them, credit is usually attributed either to drummer William "O'Neil" Spencer or Barney Walberg, co-owner of Walberg & Auge, an instrument and equipment manufacturing company responsible for several inventions that helped further develop jazz in the 1920s. A final attribution is sometimes made to Jonathan "Papa Jo" Jones, who in any event is recognized as being among the first to master its use. An evolution of the earlier low-hat cymbal design, Jones is credited with using the hi hat to replace the bass drum as the primary time keeper in swing jazz, in fact ushering in its ascendance with this change in sound. Since then it has become an essential element in a wide variety of musical styles including R&B, rock, and heavy metal, being equally indispensable in more modern genres such as Hip Hop, techno, trap, electronic and house. A simple design with a seemingly endless number of possibilities, it is safe to say that the last century of music just wouldn't be the same without them.
