Baltimore Speaks: Black Communities, COVID-19 and The Cost of Not Doing Enough is a documentary short by AphroChic, made with support from the CDC and Black Public Media. The film explores the impact of COVID-19 on the Black community in Baltimore, Maryland, and the role that medical mistrust, created through a long history of medical racism, played in creating hesitancy around the vaccine, as well as the heroic efforts of community members, medical institutions and the city’s health department to reach vaccination goals.
